Publish and schedule posts

Write a post or polish a draft, then post it now or schedule it across channels.

Open the post editor

You can open the post editor from three places:

  • Write a new post: at the top of the screen, click New Post → Create Manually.
  • Write for a specific day: in the month view of Calendar, hover over today or a later day and click New Post.
  • Polish an AI draft: in Studio, click Review on a draft card. For AI drafts, see Create posts with AI.

Pick accounts

At the top of the post editor, click the profile photos of the accounts to post to. You can pick several. If you have no connected accounts, connect one first.

Write differently for each channel

When you pick accounts on two or more platforms, you get a Base tab and a tab for each platform.

  • What you write on the Base tab goes to every channel.
  • When you edit on a platform tab, only that channel changes.
  • To make a tab use the Base text again, click Reset to Base on that tab.

Add photos and videos

Click Add media and choose a source: upload a file, Import from library, Canva, Figma, Unsplash, or Google Drive. You can also drag files into the editor. To create a new image, use AI Image Generation, which uses credits.

Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube posts need a photo or video.

When you go over a platform limit

Each platform limits how many photos and characters a post can have. For example, an X post can have up to 4 images. When you go over a limit, that channel's tab gets a red border and shows the reason. You cannot click Schedule or Post now until you fix it. Remove photos, or deselect that platform's account.

Post now

Click Post now and check the post again in the Confirm Post dialog. Post now only appears when the editor's date is today.

Schedule a post

Open the schedule dialog

In the post editor, click Schedule.

Set the date and time

In the Confirm Schedule dialog, set the Date & Time and the timezone. The time must be at least 2 minutes from now. Make sure the timezone is the one you mean.

Confirm

Click Schedule to finish.

To post the same content several times, turn on Repeat this post in the schedule dialog.

If the post is not ready yet, click Save as draft. You can open it again from the Drafts column in Studio.

View, edit, or cancel scheduled posts

  • Calendar: shows scheduled posts by date. Click a post to edit it. Drag it to another time to reschedule it.
  • Posts → Scheduled tab: shows scheduled posts as a list. In a post's ⋯ menu, choose Edit or Cancel. When you cancel, click Save as draft & Cancel to keep the post as a draft.
  • Posts → Posted tab: shows posts that are already published.

When a post fails to publish

If a scheduled post doesn't publish, its status on the Scheduled tab changes to Failed, with the reason next to it. Posteady also emails the post's author, the organization owner, and the workspace managers.

To try again, open ⋯ → Edit, fix the cause, and set a new time. If the post failed because the connection broke, reconnect the account first.
