Invite teammates and clients
Invite teammates or clients to a workspace and give them the right role.
You can invite teammates or clients to work in a workspace with you. People work in the workspace they were invited to, and what they can do depends on their role.
Roles
- Owner: the person who created the organization. They can do everything, including managing the subscription and billing.
- Manager: for the person who runs the account work. They can do everything a Member can, and also change workspace settings, change people's roles or remove them, and manage conversations (DMs).
- Member: for content creators. They can create, edit, schedule, and publish posts, connect accounts, and create brand voices.
- Client: for outside clients. They can view posts, comments, and analytics, and connect their own accounts.
Good to know:
- You set roles per workspace. One person can be a Manager in workspace A and a Member in workspace B.
- Clients cannot see billing, credits, or the list of users. You can turn on extra permissions one by one, such as managing posts.
- For the full list of what each role can do, see the Role Permissions table in Settings → Workspace Users.
Invite someone
The organization owner can send invitations.
Open the Workspace Users tab
Click your profile at the bottom of the sidebar, open Settings, and go to the Workspace Users tab.
Pick the workspace
At the top of the tab, pick the workspace to invite people to. The invitation is for this workspace.
Send the invitation
Click Invite User, then enter the Email Address, Role, and Invitation Email Language. You can choose Manager, Member, or Client. To give extra permissions, turn them on under Additional Permissions. Then click Send Invite.
Accept the invitation
The invited person clicks Accept the invitation in the email and signs in. They then join the workspace. Invitations are valid for 7 days. If one expires, click Resend Invitation in the list.
Let clients connect their own accounts
You don't need your client's social media passwords. Invite your client with the Client role. After they sign in, they can connect their own accounts from Accounts in the sidebar. The steps are the same as in Connect social accounts.
Inviting someone who already has an organization
A person can belong to only one organization, so:
- You cannot invite someone who belongs to an organization they share with other people.
- If someone has an organization they use alone, accepting your invitation shows a Data Deletion Warning: their old organization's data will be deleted. They must click Delete & Join to join.
- If someone pays for a subscription, they must cancel it before they can accept.
Manage people
In the list on the Workspace Users tab, owners and managers can Change Role or Remove from this workspace for each person. Like invitations, Resend Invitation is for the organization owner.
How many people you can invite
Each plan includes a set number of people. The owner and invitations that are not accepted yet each take a seat. If you need more seats, the organization owner of a paid subscription can buy them in Settings → Organization. See the seats for each plan on the pricing page.
